All auto — popular cars and design: Rolls-Royce
Rolls-Royce is a British car and aero-engine manufacturing company founded by Henry Royce and C.S. Rolls on 15 March 1906 and was the result of a partnership formed in 1904. In 1971, Rolls-Royce was crippled by the development of the advanced RB211 jet engine, resulting in the nationalisation of the company. In 1973, the car division was separated from Rolls-Royce Limited as Rolls-Royce Motors. It is now a BMW subsidiary and rebranded under the name Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.
The Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé is a British handmade luxury car manufactured by Rolls-Royce that debuted at the 2007 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan, on 7 January 2007. The platform is based on the 2003 Rolls-Royce Phantom and has styling heavily derived from the 100EX, a concept car unveiled to celebrate the company’s centennial in 2004. It is currently the most expensive Rolls-Royce model at $533,000 (2015). Several Drophead Coupés were featured in the 2012 Summer Olympics closing ceremony.
